Having been successful in its bid to the SHINE Trust for the third time, and with generous support from Wimbledon Foundation and Clarion Housing Association, we continue to deliver learning opportunities on a Saturday and offer a chance to fifty 9-10 yr old pupils (approx.10 per each Cluster school) to take part in enrichment activities aimed at raising attainment.

SHINE offers five hours of study support and enrichment at Bond Primary School on 25 Saturdays per year, targeting predominantly disadvantaged students. Activities include study support, educational trips, theatre workshops, SATs revision

and free lunch.

SHINE curriculum is overseen and devised by a fully qualified and experienced senior teacher.

Study Support Centre

The Study Support Centre based at Cricket Green School 6th Form is a joint project, creating a partnership amongst all schools from Mitcham Town Cluster.

The Centre has been designed to provide a stimulating, modern high-tech teaching and learning environment. The high ratio of tutors to young people enables development of confidence-boosting relationships between students and mentors ensuring rapid progress and key skills development. The programme is currently working on a school referral basis and focusing on offering specially tailored study support and enrichment courses.

With support from Clarion Housing Association and Ernest Cook Trust we have been able to introduce the cutting edge technology such as Oculus Rift, Lego-We Do coding and game creation activities. Use of iPads and artificial intelligence is encouraged, to tease out independent learning.
